The Machine Operator is responsible for following a series of processes in order to correctly manufacture products while upholding safety & quality standards. This position is accountable for meeting production goals by adhering to the assigned production schedule. Additional responsibilities include general maintenance of equipment and cleanliness of the work area.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adhere to all standard process for safety, quality and production
- Surface & communicate safety, quality and production issues with Production Lead and Supervisor
- Operate equipment and machinery according to standard operating procedures
- Set up and makes minor adjustments or repairs to the machine, such as opening valves; changing, forming and cutting dies; setting guides; and clearing away damaged product containers
- Call help chain 15 minutes or sooner if unable to resolve issue.
- Follow assembly instructions along with workflow processes and procedures
- Perform general maintenance of equipment or machinery
- Complete all work and attain production targets and demands
- Accountable for quality of each order/product
- Read and understand work order instructions
- Check order for correct quantities, color, size, shape and image
- Responsible for the proper set-up, start-up, shut down and clean-up of equipment
- Ability to follow production schedule
- Work closely and communicate effectively with corresponding operators and team members
- Surface problems regarding Safety, Quality, order fulfillment, equipment, process and materials with Production Lead and Supervisor
- Maintain clean and organized work area
- Properly complete required documentation
- Carry out tasks as assigned by the Production Management

QUALIFICATIONS
- Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or GED equivalent. Previous experience in production, machine operating or assembly experience is preferred.
- Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to complete time report and production reports. Ability to effectively communicate information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to count, number sequencing, add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
