Maintenance Technician (2nd Shift)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Maintenance Technician (2nd Shift) is responsible for the installation, repair, rebuilding, and maintenance of machinery and mechanical equipment used in production and related services. This role encompasses a wide range of duties, including the upkeep of HVAC systems, lighting, plant air, and general building maintenance activities. The technician is expected to maintain a preventative maintenance schedule for equipment, manage consumable parts inventories, diagnose machine malfunctions, and oversee third-party contractor support when necessary.

2nd Shift - 4:30pm-12:30am

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Install, repair, rebuild, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment used in production and related services
  • Oversee maintenance for HVAC systems, lighting, plant air, and all building-related activities
  • Implement and manage a preventative maintenance schedule for equipment and machinery, ensuring timely adjustments and repairs
  • Keep inventory of consumable parts
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot machine malfunctions and operational difficulties
  • Coordinate and manage third-party contractor support as needed
  • Identify and report defective parts, tools, equipment, or questionable conditions to production management
  • Maintain detailed maintenance logs and records
  • Perform routine housekeeping activities and ensure compliance with established safety procedures and requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Over 3 years of experience in a maintenance role
  • Proficient in machine repair and knowledgeable in electrical and mechanical systems
  • Skilled in troubleshooting and identifying root causes of issues
  • Competent in using hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and testing devices commonly used in equipment repair
  • Capable of reading, analyzing, and interpreting repair manuals, blueprints, and schematics
  • Experienced in operating forklifts, scissor lifts, order pickers, and equipment for snow removal and landscaping
  • Able to work independently and take initiative to complete tasks
  • Possesses a valid driver’s license
