Production Manager - New Philadelphia, OH

The Production Manager is responsible for the planning and operation of all manufacturing processes at Artemax’s New Philadelphia, Ohio facility, ensuring they meet required deadlines, quality standards and operational budgets as well as following best practices and ensuring safety. Expected to increase levels of customer and employee satisfaction while improving the efficiency of manpower, materials and equipment.

Job Description


  • Select, train and develop team to support World Class Manufacturing in all areas of responsibility
  • Work with manufacturing personnel to insure they are actively engaged in daily production with an eye towards continuous improvement
  • Sets expectations and holds all team members accountable on a daily basis
  • Manages from the floor holding team members accountable at all times


  • Establishes plant wide safety policies and practices and leads the safety program
  • Insures plant wide safety including equipment operation, adherence to SOP and the overall physical facility

  • Quality Champion for Manufacturing which includes the implementation and adherence to all quality procedures
  • Immediate follow-up and resolution of all identified quality issues
  • Accountable to improve RMA results

  • Daily adherence and accountability to customer promise dates

  • Accountability to improve delivery speed through productivity and process improvements

Manufacturing Productivity

  • Accountable to hit weekly productivity goals buy effectively managing both workload and labor
  • Ensure personnel are actively engaged in operating the business at all times
  • Ongoing assessment of equipment needs and utilization, including a preventive maintenance program

Process improvement

  • Lead the continuous improvement and innovation challenge plant wide
  • Efficient use of labor, equipment and process
  • Apply lean manufacturing practices (Kaizen, Setup Reduction/SMED, Visual Management and Correction) to identify and improve manufacturing performance consistent with Artemax World Class Manufacturing standards

New product support

  • Provides material support and resource guidance during new product development and testing
  • Ensuring effective use of manpower

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelors’ degree in the areas of Industrial, Mechanical or Business Administration or related field. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in manufacturing management. Experience working within a printing environment is preferred.
  • Strong verbal communication, leadership and team building skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional internal partners.
  • The ability to analyze data and solve problems.
  • Ability to bend and lift up to 50 pounds up to 4 times per day and stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours per day, with or without accommodations.
