Purchasing Agent

POSITION SUMMARY

The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing wristbands and associated materials from suppliers to meet the cost, quality, and delivery requirements. This role requires strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with vendors. The ideal candidate will ensure timely procurement, manage inventory levels, and ensure product quality aligns with our company’s standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Source, negotiate, and purchase wristbands and related materials in line with company requirements.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers while identifying and evaluating new suppliers.
  • Evaluate supplier performance, ensuring high-quality products, competitive pricing, and timely deliveries.
  • Review purchase orders and confirm product specifications, pricing, and delivery timelines.
  • Monitor inventory levels and work with the production and sales teams to ensure adequate stock of materials.
  • Coordinate with vendors to resolve issues related to product quality, delivery delays, or order discrepancies.
  • Stay up to date on market trends, product innovations, and pricing fluctuations within the wristband industry.
  • Manage and maintain accurate purchasing records, including orders, receipts, and vendor contracts.
  • Work closely with the finance team to ensure timely payments and proper documentation of purchases.
  • Ensure compliance with all company procurement policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience in a purchasing or procurement role, in promotional products, or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Good knowledge of quality management as well as material requirements planning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in purchasing software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
